Steel Transmission Pole

The steel transmission pole is a tubular steel support used in transmission and distribution lines. It can be produced as a single-pole or double-pole structure according to the available line corridor, crossarm arrangement, foundation position, and equipment installation conditions.

 

A single-pole design uses one independent pole body as the main support. A double-pole design combines two steel poles with matching connection members. Both forms can be configured as tangent, tension, angle, terminal, or crossing structures. Branch and transposition applications can also be supported.

 

Single-circuit, double-circuit, and multi-circuit conductor arrangements are available. The line angle can be designed from 0 to 90 degrees.

Common nominal heights range from 12 to 36 meters. Main dimensions include total pole height, base width, and crossarm length. Unequal-leg structures can be produced where different foundation elevations need to be accommodated.

Typical horizontal spans are 250–500 meters, while typical vertical spans are 300–600 meters. The pole can support LGJ-185, 240, 300, 400, and 500 conductors. Ground wire options include GJ steel strand and OPGW optical ground wire.

The design can consider common basic wind speeds of 23.5 m/s, 27 m/s, and 31 m/s. Higher requirements can be discussed for strong-wind coastal locations. Ice thickness can range from 5 to 50 mm, including light, medium, and heavy ice conditions. Seismic requirements can be configured for site intensities of 6–8 degrees.

The pole body can use Q235B, Q355B, or Q345B steel. Q420B may be selected for higher-load designs. Materials specified by the project can also be used.

Steel cutting, hole processing, and matching component production are completed in the factory. Grade 6.8 or grade 8.8 high-strength bolts are used at connection points. Site erection is mainly carried out by bolted assembly.

The steel transmission pole and its crossarms receive full hot-dip galvanizing. The regular zinc coating thickness is at least 85 μm. Additional corrosion protection can be specified for high-salt-spray environments.

• Delivery time is arranged according to the pole structure, specifications, quantity, and current production load. Before contract signing, the factory evaluates whether the required schedule can be met. Repeat orders may use previously confirmed drawings and process data to support faster production planning.

• Photos or videos can be supplied during production, and customers may arrange third-party inspection. EXW and FOB are the preferred trade terms, with USD settlement supported. Export packaging receives secondary reinforcement, and the steel transmission pole includes a two-year warranty.
